Consecutive Verbs (Redundant Pronoun Rule)
When multiple verbs follow the same subject, English states the pronoun once. In Judean, the pronoun marker is attached to EVERY verb in the sequence.
English: "she walked and ran" (pronoun once)
Judean: "she-walked and-she-ran" (pronoun on each verb)
READING GOAL:
To recognize that each verb in a sequence carries its own subject marker.
English: Pronoun + verb + and + verb (she walked and ran)
Judean: Conjugated-verb + ื + Conjugated-verb
1 Kings 14:17
ืืชืงื ืืชืื ืืชืื
(vataqom vatelekh vatavo)
"and-she-arose and-she-departed and-she-came"
Each verb carries the feminine marker.
